Teaching your dog to sit, stay, and wait is something that every dog needs to learn, not only to please you, but for the safety of your dog and those around it.
One thing you do not want is an excited puppy who will run across a busy road, or jump on some kids.
When you teach your puppy to stay, make your puppy sit next to you on your left. Then say “Stay” as you stop on foot to the right (right foot first) and then back. Do this again, but step behind your puppy, and once more, stepping in front of your puppy.
If your dog tries to move, then firmly say “No” and try again.
Once you are comfortable with your puppy teaching it to stay one step away, increase the distance slowly, ensuring your puppy stays.
