Getting your puppy to shake hands with you is a fun way to play with your pet and to reward them.

Dog’s usually shake hands if they want something, such as the food you have in your hand. It’s their way of saying “I want that”.

To get your dog to shake hands, have some food in one hand, and while your puppy is sitting, pick up on of its paws and say “shake”. Once the dog is shaking hands with you, reward him with the treat.

Regularly doing this and repeating the words “shake” or “shake hands” will train your dog to put his paw out whenever you say it.
